Meanwhile, the 12TB IronWolf drives include reliability features such as health management and error recovery control software, as well as rotational vibration sensors to keep performance optimized in multi-drive systems.

Millennials Are Ready for AI to Take over Their Financial Lives
Research reveals that Americans want easier, smarter and more convenient ways to manage their money and improve financial health, so they are turning to artificial intelligence. 79% of American adults — including a whopping 85% of Millennials — believe that AI could help them better manage their finances. More than one third (36%) said they would appreciate an AI that could help them calculate and implement a savings plan. Three in ten think AI would give them better visibility into how they spend, and an equal number say AI would cut down on the number of errors they make when managing their accounts.

As Out-of-Network ATM Fees Climb to an All-Time High, Cash Gets More Expensive
In the age of electronic payments, cash is getting more and more expensive—even when accessed via electronic means. Nationwide, it costs consumers $4.69 to withdraw money from an out-of-network ATM. That is up 2.6% from a year ago, according to the latest data from Bankrate, a New York City-based consumer-research firm.

Sargent and Greenleaf, a division of Stanley Security that manufactures mechanical and electronic locks, has released the A-Series with Display, the newest lock in the company's ATM access control management system. Mastercard Wants to Help Issuers Fight Card Fraud Faster After Data Breaches
Mastercard announced the launch of Early Detection System, which alerts FIs to high-risk cards and accounts that are exposed in security incidents or data breaches. Using its network insights, predictive capabilities and a combination of internal and external data sources, Early Detection System determines if a card or account is at risk and sends an alert to the issuer, quantifying the level of risk. The issuer then uses the risk level to determine its next steps—from monitoring transactions more closely to issuing a replacement card.

BitSight released a new report titled, “The Buck Stops Where? Assessing The Cybersecurity Performance of the Finance Supply Chain.” The report analyzes the finance industry to assess the security of its supply chain. New Standards Will Shore up Internet Router Security
Industry efforts to strengthen the critical Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) system that the Internet's core routers use to direct traffic just received a boost with the release of new draft standards by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). The standards center around a security feature called BGP Path Validation and are designed to ensure that Internet traffic is not accidentally or maliciously intercepted and rerouted as it travels from one point to another. Such interception has resulted in network disruption, eavesdropping, and financial theft in recent years and has heightened concerns about the vulnerability of the BGP system to targeted attacks.
